What will happen on February 17, 2009 with the DTV switch over?
Public Interest Spectrum Coalition (PISC) petitioned the FCC to address the use of wireless microphones in the 700 Mhz band. This frequency band had been specifically outlined for emergency-related use in the FCC's previous rulings regarding the upcoming change to DTV.
They don't know for sure. What I gather from information is that the FCC is going to specifically hold wireless microphone manufactures' accountable if they continue to produce microphones in the 700mhz range.
The current proposal actually forbids manufacturers from transmitting on frequencies from 698 Mhz all the way up to 806 Mhz. Which is most UHF wireless microphones.
As I learn more about what's ahead in the wireless world, I will continue to educate my customers.
